When students select a global context for learning, they are answering the following questions.
  • Why are we engaged in this inquiry?
  • Why are these concepts important?
  • Why is it important for me to understand?
  • Why do people care about this topic?

MYP’s global contexts help ground our students’ conceptual understanding in a real life context. They connect our units to different scenarios, events and settings. The global context and its exploration help focus our units and act as a vehicle for student thinking and discussion
