Volleyball
Tryouts Information
8th Grade tryouts will be Monday August 17th and Tuesday August 18th
7th grade tryouts will be Wednesday August 19th and Thursday August 20th. (Possible 3rd day August 21st.)
Athletes will be assessed on the following volleyball fundamentals as well as fitness and athletic ability.
- Passing
- Setting
- Hitting
- Serving
- Blocking
Things you'll need:
- Completed athletic paperwork in Register My Athlete account
- Volleyball/athletic shoes
- Knee pads (Knee pads are available for loan, if needed. Please let your coach know before tryouts if you need to borrow knee pads)
- Volleyball/athletic attire
- Water bottle
- Volleyballs will be provided
Volleyball Paperwork
In order to tryout all paperwork must be submitted on the Register My Athlete website.
Paperwork Checklist
Medical History and Sports Physical - The medical history must be filled out and signed at the bottom by a parent or guardian. The physical must be completed and signed by a doctor and dated after May 15, 2026.
Insurance Waiver - If you plan to use your own insurance, you must sign the insurance waiver and submit the insurance information. You will also need to get the form notarized or have a Lanier Administrator sign off on it.
HISD Insurance - HISD athletics insurance must be purchased if you don't have personal insurance to use.
There are several other forms that must be filled out as well.
