Tryouts Information
Athletes will be assessed on the following volleyball fundamentals as well as fitness and athletic ability.
- Passing
- Setting
- Hitting
- Serving
- Blocking
Make sure to bring gear to tryout in. You'll be able to use the locker room after school.
Things you'll need:
- Volleyball/athletic shoes
- Knee pads
- Volleyball/athletic attire
- Water bottle
- Volleyballs will be provided
Tryout dates for the 2025-2026 school year will be announced during the summer.
Volleyball Paperwork
In order to tryout all paperwork must be submitted on the Register My Athlete website.
Paperwork Checklist
Medical History - This must be filled out and signed at the bottom by a parent or guardian
Sports Physical - This must be signed off on by a doctor and dated after May 15, 2025
Insurance Waiver - If you plan to use your own insurance, you must sign the insurance waiver and submit the insurance information. You will also need to get the form notarized or have a Lanier Administrator sign off on it.
HISD Insurance - HISD athletics insurance must be purchased if you don't have personal insurance to use.
There are several other forms that must be filled out as well.
