Incoming 6th Grade Student Information and Next Steps

Dear Incoming 6th Grade Families,

Welcome to Lanier Middle School! We are excited to have your family join our Purple Pup community. We know the transition to middle school can feel like a big step, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Below are important next steps and helpful resources to support you and your student as you prepare for the upcoming school year.

🐾 Lanier Enrollment
All new students must complete the Lanier enrollment process.

Registration begins on June 9. Please Scan the QR code below or click the link to schedule your registration appointment.

Please bring the following required documents to your appointment:

• Birth Certificate or Passport of your child
• End-of-Year 5th Grade Report Card
• Parent’s State-Issued ID or Passport
• Current Full Lease or Mortgage Statement
• Current Utility Bill (water, gas, or electric ONLY)
• Current Student Immunization/Shot Records
• 504 or SPED Documentation

🐾 Pup Prep (Student Orientation)
Join us for a fun, half-day orientation where students will meet new friends, explore the campus, and prepare for their first day of middle school.

Session Options:
• July 23: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM or 1:00 PM–4:00 PM
• July 24: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM or 1:00 PM–4:00 PM

We encourage all students to strengthen their math skills and prepare for 6th grade by completing the Khan Academy pathway below:

🐾 Uniforms
Students wear khaki or navy bottoms with a Lanier polo Monday through Thursday, and a Lanier spirit shirt on Fridays. Review the Lanier MS 26–27 Uniform Policy below:

All uniform tops, including polos and outerwear, must be purchased from the Lanier MS PTO Uniform Store. Use the link below to place orders and view store hours (store opens July 5 for incoming students):
